September 17th (with Parents)
October 22nd (with Sponsors)
We joined Life Teen this evening for an event called XLT.
We discussed the gift of counsel, how we interact with counsel, and the fruits of the Holy spirit that come out of this gift.
No Newsletter this week. Class will resume March 4th, 7pm-9pm in the crites room of the HFC.
We discussed the gift of Fortitude, how we interact with Fortitude, and the fruits of the Holy spirit that come out of this gift.
We discussed the gift of Piety, how we interact with Piety, and the fruits of the Holy spirit that come out of this gift.
We spent time with prayer. Teens could choose from journaling, the rosary, or divine mercy chaplet.
These were our small group questions
What are other words for Piety?
Is it fair to expect certain postures and behaviors from fellow believers? Inside church and out?
How much do you currently live out piety? What do you need to change?
What something from Chiara’s story that inspired you? Why?
If living the gift of piety is partly about being an example of God’s love… how well are you being an example of God’s love? (And thus be living piety)
Do you think it’s easy or hard to live a pious life?
We discussed the gift of Fear of the Lord, how we interact with Fear of the Lord, and the fruits of the Holy spirit that come out of this gift.
- The gift of Fear of the Lord is the foundation for all the other gifts of the Spirit. From this gift, all the other gifts arise. Fear of the Lord (also called wonder and awe)
- This gift brings about a sense of adoration and honor for God’s majesty and a sense of horror and hatred for sin and all things that separate us from God’s love.
